COVID Vaccine Passports
We are aware that nhs staff, and in particularly vaccinators, have been fielding a number of questions regarding the provision of COVID passports for patients. We are now appealing to the public not to ask our staff for these at vaccination centres and to not contact their GP Practice to ask for a COVID vaccination passport or status certificate.
The Scottish Government is working to support the re-opening of international travel once it is safe to do so. It is also working with the other UK Nations and with the World Health Organisation to agree on potential future COVID certification requirements for international travel.
We would point patients to the COVID FAQs on the NHS Lothian website if they wish to find out more information.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Travelling in Europe
If you are travelling to Europe the EU has published useful information for travellers on the European website.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.
Our receptionists will give results over the telephone after 11:00 Monday to Friday on 0131 554 6471.
You will be given advised of how long it will take for the practice to receive the results when the test is taken.
GP Advanced Physiotherapy (APP) role
What is a GP APP?
A new role supported by Scottish Government aiming to free-up GP time which aims to be patient centred, cost effective and to provide tailor made expert MSK assessment and advice.
During the outbreak of Covid-19 the NHS Inform MSK helpline has been suspended. We can reassure you that the Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner will be available to discuss musculo-skeletal problems such as: joint or muscle pains; sprains and strains; as well as low back and neck pain via a telephone consultation for anyone over the age of 16.
Following your appointment, supporting information and resources useful for your recovery can be sent to you. Further medical help can also be arranged if required.
